Not all students learn or develop the same way, and there are so many great resources in the schools for struggling students. Special education exists for students with a variety of disabilities. These students are just as capable of learning as students without disabilities. I have had several years of experience in the special education setting and have seen firsthand how dedicated and resilient these students are. If you are the parent of a child who recieves special education services, know that your child is so loved and treasured in my classroom. Discrimination and bullying based on ability will not be tolerated. If you are not the parent of a child who recieves special education services, please help me in teaching your child that these students deserve to be treated like anyone else, with kindness and respect.
