Frequently Asked Questions

1. What can I do to help my child at home?
Read to your child everynight for at least ten minuits. You can also do 3-5 math word problems per night with your child.

Where can I get books for my child?
You can gets books for your child at the Public Library or at the  parent resource center located here at the school.

What time is lunch?
Our class has lunch from 11:30-12:00.

When is your conference period?
My conference period is from 9:00-10:00. If you need to set up a conference with me, feel free to call or text me at 901-212-2048, or call the school office at 870-739-5100 to set up an appointment.

Do you allow students to bring treats to celebrate their birthday?
As long as I am notified in advance, I will allow students to bring treats for special occasions. The treats must be store bought and due to allageries they must be peanut free.

Is there a way I can keep up with my childs grades between progress reports and report cards?
All of my grades will be posted on HAC (home access center). You can long into your student's account and see all of the grades from our class.

 How can I stay updated on announcements for the school and imporant things going on in the classroom?
I post announcements on the school announcement and parent announcement pages.

8. What is your homework policy?
Unless you child has previously spoken to me regarding an assignment, I expect all assignments to be turned in on the day they are due. I will count off ten points for each day an assignment is turned in late.

 What is the grading scale?
A=100-90%, B=89-80%, C=79-70%, D=69-60%, F=59-0%
