Children's Literature
Reading is in everything we do. It is everywhere we go. From
advertisements and street signs to navigating the internet and
completing lessons in school, children must know how to read. Not
only is it necessary for children to know how to read to function in
daily life, it is important for their imagination, it is important
for their creativity, it is important for their communication
skills, it is important for their understanding and it is important
for their overall development as well.

Why Reading is So Important
Ensuring that children are reading appropriate and useful material
is another important proponent of a child's reading along with the
availability of that material. Children's literature must be on an
appropriate level, must set a good example, must be inviting and
engaging, must pose thought-provoking questions and must build on
previous knowledge while creating new knowledge.
