Online Safety
Online/internet safety is a very important concept for children to understand, especially when using devices at home or in the classroom. Online safety is exactly what it sounds like: being safe on the internet!
There are several ways that students can be safe on the internet. Students can stay safe online by: creating strong passwords, not sharing any personal information online (including your real name), not sending pictures to anyone, not talking to someone that they do not know, asking parents’/the teacher’s permission for access to websites, not downloading anything, and following the internet safety rules that are set at school and at home.
Students should look for things that are too good to
be true such as free iPads. Students should also not trust anyone that they
do not know; just because someone says that they are 7 years old does not
mean that they really are 7 years old.
