Copyright and Fair Use
Copyright is a law that protects the creater and gives them the rights to choose how others use it. These laws help to protect the author's material so that others may not use it without their permission. Before using material such as a document, song, video or photo we need to make sure that either the author has allowed it for free use and if not determine what needs to be done in order to use the material appropriately.
Fair Use allows people to basically reword the material or use a small portion to include in papers for reserach or for reviews.
