Physical Activity in the Classroom

Physical activity in the classroom allows students to become more involved in their learning. Many times teachers have to repeatedly tell a student to sit down or to stay still during a class lesson. This becomes very distracting. Therefore, incorporating small physical activities into the classroom can help reduce these distractions.

Examples:

Replacing raising their hand with a jumping jack.

Acting out a story.

Subject-specific Charades.

Teaching measurements through jumping.
