On-Line Safety

Online safety is to know how to protect yourself from computer crime.

An essential rule that everyone needs to follow when being online is to keep all your personal information private. Do not share your personal information such as full name, location, address, social security number, passwords, etc.

Friendships over the web need to be kept in the virtual world. Meeting online friends in person can be very dangerous. There is no guarantee they are truly who they say they are. A online friend can have negative intentions. A better option is video chat.

Email seems to have less risks but there are still dangers. If you do not recognize a sender do not open the email. Delete the email without opening. Scammers or hackers can access your information if you open their emails.
