Digital Law

Digital Law deals with the ethical use of technology. Unethical use means that the user has committed theft and/or crime, and ethical use means that the user has abided by the laws of society. Yes, you CAN break the law on the internet, and yes, you CAN get in a lot of trouble for it. It is important to use technology in an ethical manner.

Examples of following Digital Law could include: Properly citing where you find information or legally downloading music.

Examples of not following Digital Law could include: “Hacking into others information, downloading illegal music, plagiarizing, creating destructive worms, viruses or creating Trojan Horses, sending spam, or stealing anyone’s identify or property.” (Digital Citizenship Website)
