Adopt Don’t Shop is a movement that encourages people to adopt animals from animal shelters rather than adopting them from mills or breeders. Many families choose to buy their pets from breeders and mills, when there are millions of animals waiting to be taken home from animal shelters. In fact, four to five million animals lose their lives in animal shelters everyday. Adding to this, some animals’ living conditions in puppy mills and in breeders’ facilities are not humane. It is important to adopt animals so that they can live happy lives with people who love them, rather than losing their lives in animal shelters.
