Digital Etiquette

This element of digital citizenship is similar to digital communication because it has to do with being polite online and making sure that your posts are appropriate and considerate of others. Having digital etiquette ensures that the user is being as professional and friendly as they would be in person. If all users use digital etiquette it prevents cyber bullying, and keeps others from getting their feelings hurt.

Examples of appropriate Digital Etiquette:

  1. Keeping cell phones turned off
  2. Telling an adult about misuse of technology (cyber bullying)
  3. Not sending e-mails in all caps
  4. Sharing technology with others
