Community Service
Community service is one of the most important things a young student can do to contribute to his/her community. Giving back to the place where one lives and learns is a rewarding and fun experience. Community service allows students to learn about the community, gives them the opportunity to make form new relationships with people they might not have met otherwise, and helps them have a sense of pride that they helped with something bigger than themselves.
There are many ways a student can get involved in community service projects. A student can help out a neighbor by carrying in groceries, or raking leaves. They can hold a bake sale to raise money for a local church or organization. Whatever the student decides to do, let them know that they are doing a good thing and give them praise.
