Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Our planet can't sustain the amount of toxic waste we are currently making. In order to reduce our carbon footprint we can follow the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Reduce-Reduce the amount of plastic you are using in your life, especially non-recyclable plastic. This could mean switching over to glass or paper products. It could also mean buying reusable products instead of disposable. Buying silverware and dishes to replace plastic cutlery and styrofoam plates are one example. Another is using a reusable water bottle rather than plastic.

Reuse-Reuse items, especially non-recyclable items, as much as possible rather than throwing them away. Plastic to go containers can often be washed and reused. You can also repurpose items rather than throwing them away. Turn old containers into storage containers or a watering can for your garden. Use old bottle caps to make artwork.

Recycle-We can recycle a lot of the waste we create. The materials we recycle are used to make new items. Check the bottom or the label of your plastic items and it may be recyclable in your area.
