Arts in The Classroom
Art has been proven to expand the mind of students and engages them in learning. It increases creativity and problem solving skills. Students who are involved in art outside of class have also shown to have a better grade point average and less deliquent behavior. Incorporating arts into the classroom will increase student confidence, creativity, and collaboration with peers. Art takes many forms including visual art, such as painting videos and sculpture, performing arts, such as drama dance and music, and written art, such as books speeches and poetry. Art falls under such a vast scope that it is easy to incorporate into the classroom and find a way to engage each student.
