Online Safety
Students should always use caution when on the internet, especially when talking to others. You can never be sure who you are talking to. If someone on the internet is making you feel uncomfortable or asking you to meet in person, tell an adult. If you are going to meet someone online in person always have an adult present and meet in a public place with plenty of people. If you recieve an email or message from someone you don't know, don't answer it. Instead tell an adult. This message could contain a virus or malware that could infect your device.

Never give out personal information about yourself or others when on the internet. When on gaming sites it is recommended to use a username that is not related to your name. Personal information includes names, addresses, what school you attend, passwords, phone numbers, email addresses, location, and social security number. If a website asks you for personal information, check with an adult before answering. Most reliable websites will not ask for this information.

Don't go places where you should not be. This includes social media, chat rooms, clicking on ads, and games. Clicking on any of these things could potentially open you up to predators or place viruses and malware on your devices.

Don't download anything from the internet without permission. It could contain viruses or malware that could harm your device.
