I have sent you a document that is titled Acceptable Use Policy. This document is a contract between myself, your child, and you: the parent. It lays out the rules that students will be required to follow in the classroom and the consequences that will be administered if the student breaks those rules. I send this to you because I believe that it is beneficial to students and parents if the expectations are clearly laid out up front. It eliminates a lot of uncertainty. I believe that an Acceptable Use Policy (or AUP) helps the student take responsibility for their actions. An AUP can also be helpful if used in the home. If you would like to make a home AUP for yourself and your child, that would be wonderful! I will send you an AUP template.
