Parental Involvement
Parental involvement involves parent-reported participation at least once during the school year: attending a school or class event or volunteering in the school or serving on a school committee.
Research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and restores parents' confidence in their children's educational performance. Students with involved parents or other caregivers often earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, and show improved behavior.
