Online Safety

• Online safety is perhaps the most important concept about internet usage that you can learn

• Do not give out personal information online, including, name, date of birth, address, credit/debit card information, social security number, etc.

• Do not chat with people that you do not know online

• Do not give out your password to anybody. It is your password and the main protection that you have to all of your own information. Others do not need this, even if they are your best friend.

• Be wary of what you post to your social media because those that are not your intended audience may be able to see it as well.

• Be wary of the credibility of news sources as well. Double check the source to determine if it is trustworthy and keep in mind the narrative they may be trying to portray as well as their intended audience.
