Immunizations
Preventable disease outbreaks are at an all time high
in the United States due to the spread of misleading and false information
preventing parents from vaccinating their children. Herd immunity will only work
if everyone that can be vaccinated is vaccinated. It is our responsibility as
parents to vaccinate our children in order to protect the members of our
community that can't be vaccinated due to medical reasons. The most common
misconception about vaccinations is that they cause autism. The study that this
claim originated from has now been discredited and the doctor who performed it
has had his medical license revoked, but they damage has been done and the
misinformation has been spread. For accurate and evidence-based information on
immunizations and their benefits, I've provided a few websites that may be
useful.
