Dear Parents,                       

I am excited to get this year kicked off, and I always start the new school year with my classroom AUP. It is very important for students to have an understanding of what is expected of them while being a member of our little classroom community. Please take some time to consider creating an AUP for your home. It is a great way to set ground rules for your home, the technology you have in your home, and exploring the internet. It should be 3-5 specific directions for each of the three categories, with 3-5 clear consequences for breaking these rules. These rules should not be in place just for the kids, but the entire house should be involved in creating and following the AUP. By creating an AUP for you and everyone in your home, you are holding yourselves and your children accountable for anything you may find innappropriate. I have attached a template so you can see just how easy it is. I do hope you consider it!
