Class Rules
-Students are not to enter the classroom if I am not standing at the
door to greet them. If I am not at the door, line up against the wall and wait for me
before entering.
-You should come to class on time & prepared with all needed materials. Always bring a book to class
for reading.
-The use of personal devices such as cellphones and smartwatches
is NOT permitted in my class. Cellphones should be turned off & smartwatches are not to be used for
any reason other than keeping time.
-Chromebooks will be used periodically. Please see the
computer rules for more information
on your responsibilities with the use of these devices.
-Students are encouraged to stand up, stretch their legs, and change
sitting positions to stay engaged with class. I offer "flexible seating"
around the room to accommodate this. Students will not have assigned seats unless an individual class cannot
handle the responsibility that comes with the freedom to choose.
-When I am talking or presenting a lesson, students are to
remain in their seat until I have finished. During group or individual work time students are free to stand up and
move around as long as they are engaged, staying on task, and not
wasting time.
-Every student must sign out with their name and time of leaving class
for any reason. The student will sign back in with their return time
upon re-entering the classroom.
-This process should be done quietly and never interrupt class or
disturb my teaching or other students.
-Students may not leave class when I am teaching or talking to the
class, outside of an emergency situation.
-Students are allowed to use the restroom one at a time as needed. However, if this
privilege is abused you will LOSE IT....no questions asked! Students
must ask permission to leave class for any other reason.
-Students must take and posses a hall pass at all times when outside the
classroom.
-Never line up at the door waiting for the bell to ring for dismissal.
-Use polite and appropriate language. Offensive, deragatory, or
profane language will not be tolerated.
-DO NOT interrupt me or your classmates when speaking. If I am
speaking, you need to listen. If a classmate has permission to speak,
show them the same courtesy you would expect if you were speaking.
-Raise your hand if you have something to say outside of open
discussion.
-Personal drinks are encouraged as long as they are in a container with
a lid.
