Frequently Ask Questions

1. What is the best way to contact me? The best way to get in touch with me is through email. My email is stephan.petty@smail.astate.edu. If you an emergancy arises, please contact the front office leave a message and they will get in contact with me as soon as possible. I will get in touch with you as soon as I am avilable.

2. How can I get involved in my student's academic experience? You can be involved in your student's academic experience in muliple ways. You can start at the home, by asking your child about their day, what they learned, or if they have any homeowork that they may have. You could also review their homework with them or read with them, which would allow you to see exactl what they are learning in class. You can also be involved in your child's actual school experience by being a Class Volunteer. Please email me if you are interested in fullfilling this role.

3. What is the current lunch menu? You can find the monthly dining menu here.

4. When are you available for conferences? My prep time is from 10:30-11:45. Please email me to set up a conference, I will be more than happy to meet with you.

5. How will I know if my child has homework? I will send hard copies of their homework home each day. It will also be located in their RED homework folder. You can also access thier homework here.

6. Can I bring my child food/come eat with them during lunch time? Of course!! However, we do ask that you do not bring food for any other studnet besides your own child. When you arrive, you will need to sign in with the office and recieve a visitor pass.

7. What should I do if my child is absent? I am very award that sickness and emergancies arise and it is always when you least expect it. When your child is absent, please contact the school or let me know by email that your child will be gone. All the student's homework will be posted online. If we do an in class activity, I will have a makeup prepared for them when they return.

8. How can I find upcoming events? I will send home a copy of our newsletter each month. The Announcements page also will contain all current events in class, district, and community announcements that you may need to be aware of.
