Copyright and fair use are essential for all students.  Showing where information came from is something all ages need to understand, and I feel the earlier children can learn how to properly research and learn how to cite, the better prepared they will be in their upcoming school years.  6th grade is a great time to start getting students used to finding creditable search sites, weeding out sites and information that shouldn’t be used as a source. We will be learning how to find creditable websites in class all year long and discuss why others may not be the ones you want to get information from, as well as how to cite pictures that they can use within their work as well.
