Acceptable Use Policy

Parent/Guardian, as we all know children thrive on consistency and knowing what to expect. An acceptable use policy (AUP) gives children expectations and consequences of breaking those expectations. It is used to keep children responsible and safe.  An AUP is a contract between two or more people. It will hold both parties responsible and help keep children on track. An AUP helps to establish a foundation for and respecting rules and guidelines which will be used throughout their lifetime. I encourage you to make an AUP for your home. This AUP  can be for technology, internet, and even chores. You and your child can sit down together and read over your AUP for your home. This is a great way to help establish routines and expectations for your child(ren). If you decide that this is a good idea for your home, you can view the sample template that I created, or you can create your own. I hope that this is helpful.
