Copyright and Fair Use

Copyright

What is it?

Copyright is the legal right someone has to be the only one who publishes and replicates their intellectual property (ideas and creations). Whether this is a picture, an article or music, the this law prevents others from “copying” or reusing it without the creators's permission. To gain permission, you typically have to pay a fee.

Fair Use

What is it?

Fair use Policy is the exception of Copyright. It is the agreement to which an item can be used. Some people pay for rights to certain copyrighted materials while other people use them fairly (see articles for more details).
