Online Safety |
Online safety - the act of being aware and careful of what we are doing online and who we are communicating with, as well as being mindful of what information we share online. |
Some things to look out for: Spending long hours online, especially at night. Phone calls from people you don't know. Your child suddenly turning off the computer when you walk into the room. Withdrawal from family life and reluctance to discuss online activities. |
Some guidelines on how to be safe: Spend time together online as a family. Follow the rules set by parents, guardians, teachers, and Internet Sevice Providers. Never reveal personal information online. Never agree to meet with someone you met online without parental approval and/or supervision. If you do meet with someone, always meet them in a public place. |
