Political Polarization

What is something that most children struggle with? Sharing with others. It is similar to working together, or comprimisng. Today in the US and around the world political polarization has skyrocketed with the rise of social movements across the world. In the U.S. since 2004, there has been a rise in political partisanship, which means political groups refuse to work together to accomplish goals for their respective countries. "Its my way or the highway," is a great way to describe how politics are today. Now I do have strong politcal views, but without disclosing them, I know that the world doesn't center around me, just as it doesn't center around any politican or politcal party. When politicans don't get their way, they blame the other side for all their problems. This is not good for any country, as it divides and doesn't unite. Politicians, leaders should be role models, and if they cannot work together or "share" power with those who have different beleifs than them, than how are they setting a good example for the worlds children. How can we expect children to share, if our country's leaders cannot. Even on news stations, hosts are so polarized and so set in their ways, that they are not willing to sit down and even listen to the people of different views without losing their cool. What has happened to civil debate? Here in the United States, we are going down a dangerous path, we are divided, not united. Politicians around the world have forgotten the "Golden Rule," "Treat others the way you want to be treated."
