It's important to stay active and choose the right foods to eat in order to continue to live a healthy lifestyle. Even choosing the stairs over the elevator will help. Today, there are so many students that choose to play on a tablet, computer, game console, or phone rather than go outside. Recess may not seem important, but it is. Students have to sit in a chair at their desk five days a week for about seven to eight hours a day. Going outside for 45 minutes to get some exercise can help. Staying active overall can make anyone, of any age, feel better inside and out. Eating healthy goes hand-in-hand with staying physically active. Choosing an apple over a cookie, or water or soda, can make us feel 10x better! The Food Group Pyramid is a very important tool that can be a big help to students and their families for choosing what sorts of foods to eat every day!
