Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using another person's words or ideas without giving credit to that person.

This includes:

Copying someone else's ideas word from word without giving them credit

Claiming someone else's work as your own

Copying from someone else's work in class or outside of class

Using your same work for two different assignments without permission from the teacher

At the beginning of the year we will learn the forms of plagiarism and how you can correctly cite sources for assignments or avoid plagiarism. After this lesson, if work is turned in that has been plagiarized, it will be returned for the student to redo and learn from their mistake. If plagiarism persists, meetings will be held to discuss the seriousness of this action and take steps to teach the student how not to plagiarize.
