Autism
Per the ASAT (Association for Science in Autism Treatment), Autism is defined as a complex neurobehavioral disorder characterized by impairment in reciprocal social interaction, impairment in communication, and the presence of repetitive and stereotypic patterns of behaviors, interests, and activities.
Per me, autism is a neurobehavioral disorder that makes someone intricately unique. This disorder does not define someone. It does not determine who a person can be or what a person can do. It simply means, they are different. Not less. Not unworthy, problematic or defective. Just exceptional!
