FAQ


Question 1: How can I get in contact with you regarding my child?
Answer: I encourage all of my students parents to email me any time they have concerns or questions. I can also be contacted through the school phone.


Question 2: Will your class use a lot of technology?
Answer: We will use Google Classroom very often for assignments. I encourage my students to use technology during projects. However, I also find a lot of power in just a pencil and paper.


Question 3: Where can I see my childs homework at?
Answer: There is a homework tab under the homepage of this website that will lead to our class homework page.


Question 4: What is my childs grade?
Answer: If you are concerned about your childs average grade in class, or on a specific assignment, feel free to contact me through email or phone. I would love to set up a conference with you!


Question 5: How can I support learning in my home?
Answer: I encourage all parents to have a wide range of books in their homes if possible. It is also important to ask your child how their day at school was and what they learned.


Question 6: How often do we have parent teacher conferences?
Answer: The school has schedules PTC twice a school year. One during the fall semester, and one during the spring. However, I have a conference period everyday. So, if you would like to speak with me regarding your child feel free to schedule a conference with me via email.


Question 7: Will my child have very many large projects this school year?
Answer: Most of our projects will be completed in class. There may be a total of 2 larger projects that they will have to take home to complete.


Question 8: Is my child participating in class discussions?
Answer: We will be having class discussions almost daily. I believe this is one of the most effective ways to get students engaged. I understand that some students are shy, but if it becomes a problem and effects their learning I will contact the parents.


Question 9: What types of tests will my child have to take this year?
Answer: We will have four unit tests in my classroom. There will be one large state mandated test, but I plan to prepare your student for that. I will send home information regarding this when they are approaching.


Question 10: What experience do you have as a teacher?
Answer: I have a Bachelors degree in Middle Level Education with an emphasis in English and Science.
