Children's Literature

Literature is important in the classroom because without it, students would not be able to progress academically.  Without the proper teaching and knowledge over why reading is important, students would not be able to read or write at their grade level.  Teaching phonemic awareness, phonology, and knowing how the brain learns to read is the only way that a teacher will be able to help students advance academically.  Without literature, students would not be able to answer questions in any class.  Therefore, children's literature is one of the most important parts of teaching.
