Why Vaccinations Are Important

A common misconsception with vaccinations is that the disease it is for has either ended or will not affect your child.  Did you know that due to anti-vaccination movement, the measles have made a comeback in the U.S.?  The disease was declared eliminated in 2000, but has recently made a comeback that affected thousands of people.  Vaccines have advanced the world of medicine in a very big way over the last 100 years.  But recently people started to believe them unsafe for their children, or blamed vaccines for causing autism.  However, neither of their suspicions have been proven true, and there have been medical studies to test them.  What people don't think about is the many trials a vaccine must go through to be deemed safe to administor to the public.  By refusing to vaccinate your child, not only are you putting them at risk, you are putting other members of your family and community at risk.  This means your neighbors baby that is not old enough for certain vaccine, your friend going through chemo, or your elderly parents/grandparents will be put at risk.  So please, vaccinate your child for their sake and yours.  Below are links with more information on why you need to vaccinate.
