Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I contact you?

You can reach me via my e-mail which is katy.king@smail.astate.edu. I will do my best to respond to any questions you have with clarity and in a timely manner!

2. Can I come have lunch with my child?

Yes, feel free to come eat with your child anytime. There are some children that have food allergies so the only rule for this is that you and your child will have to sit at the front of the cafeteria to prevent any of that.

3. When is your conference period?

My conference period is during the time that the students will be at their pull out. This will be from 9:00-10:00.

4. How can I check my child's grade?

For every student, there is a user name and password for an online gradebook. Each parent has access to their child's grade only. This is something you will have to come up to the school and access just for confidientiality reasons.

5. If my child has to miss school, how can they get access to the work they missed?

I will upload all assignments from the day on our Homework website. You can access that here.

6. How do I set up a conference with you?

The best way to set up a conference would be if you would e-mail me and we can set up a date that way or you can call the office and they can assist you.

7. What is the number to the main office?

The number to reach the school's main office is 870-555-5555.

8. How much homework will my child have?

Honestly, it depends on how much we get done in class. If we don't finish our assignments then I will send the work home with them to finish. There will be times that I have assigned homework prepared for them to take home, probably around 2 times a week!

9. What are the rules and expectations for your classroom?

I have created an Acceptable Use Policy that contains all of the rules for the classroom, technology, and internet. You can access that here!

10. What is the policy for checking my child out of school?

If you check them out before their lunch hour, it will be considered a full day absent, but if you check them out after their lunch hour, it will be considered a half day absent. Only a parent or guardian can check them out by going in the office and letting the secretary know!
