Copyright and Fair Use

Copyright describes the legal rights that the owner of created material has over their work.  This means that the owner of the work is the only person who is allowed to copy that work or give others permission to copy it.

Fair Use refers to the right to use a copyrighted work only under certain conditions without prior permission from the owner of the works.
