Positive Classroom Environment

A positive classroom environment is vital to me as a teacher. In order for my students to feel comfortable with each other and with me, a positive classroom environment is key. Trust is very important. I need to establish trust with my students, and they need to be able to trust me. I want to support my students and to see them support one another. I can do this by cheering for my students and letting them cheer for one another. I can do this by showing them I see them and I am proud of them. I can also always shut down negativity. All of these aspects are key to a positive environment.

A few more intentional ways that I can make my classroom a positive learning environment is by greeting my students at the door and being intentional with saying hello to everyone of them. I can also have a class meeting and ask them questions and rellu listen to them. Kids have feelings and hurts too. LAstly, I can incorporate positivity into the class by letting them keep a journal or tell me one good thing for the day before.
