On-line Safety

When discussing on-line safety with younger students, it is always important to sit them down and explain some ground rules. Some important rules to share with students are as follows:

  • Never reveal personal information

  • Never agree to meet anyone without parental permission

  • Never respond to a threatening text, email, or post

Some tips for parents include:

  • Spending time online together to teach your child safe and appropriate behavior

  • Check your credit cards and phone bills for unusal account charges

  • Take your child seriously if they report any situation that made them uncomfortable online

There are a lot of things to consider when it comes to online safety. It is always better to do your research before just allowing your child to roam free. For easy access to additional tips, check out the links below.
