Cyberbullying is the use of electronic
communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an
intimidating or threatening nature.
-
People that bully online may use social media
to bully through the use of derogatory messages posted in comments,
direct messaging, or on stories or Live Videos. This type of
bullying can be used anytime and anywhere so keep an eye out for it,
if you are a parent watch what your child does, sends, and receives.
-
Cyberbullying can be used on social media,
internet, and phone apps. You may never know that your child is
being bullied until you look at their phone or they tell you.
-
It is more common among teenagers, but I will
be keeping an eye out in my classroom for it as well. It is
absolutely not allowed.
-
If you or someone you know is being
cyberbullied reach out to a teacher, faculty member, or
parent/guardian and let them know. You can always come to me and
tell me and I will get the situation handled.
-
Parents, if your child has informed you that
they are being cyberbullied online at school please call the school
or me and let us know. We will get it handled so your child can feel
safe and comfortable in this environment.
