Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is defined as abusive/aggressive behavior from a person in the household. Statistics show that someone suffers from domestic violence every 9 seconds. It is not just a physical act, but can also be manifested verbally, economically, sexually, and emotionally using many strategies such as control and fear to keep the victims silent.
Domestic violence effects childrens' progress in school, their social life, and can even change their outlook on their future. As an educator, I am committed to move every boundary that hinders my students from reaching their fullest potentional in life and I encourage parents and families to do the same. We cannot remain silent; our children are precious and are a strong priority.
