Parents/Guardians,

An Acceptable Use Policy is very important in the classroom, but it can

also be very helpful to use one at home. I would like to encourage you

to consider using one as I explain why it is important. Introducing an

AUP at home will allow you to create rules and guidelines for your child

to stay safe when using technology. You can also utilize your AUP for

chores or other house rules. This policy helps children to understand

what the rules are and what you expect from them, bringing about

responsibility and awareness. In regards to consequences, letting your

child know what these rules and consequences are beforehand will most

likely prevent them from breaking them if they know what will happen

when they do. You can also focus more or what they can do rather than

cannot do to make it a more positive atmosphere. I have created a

template for you to use if you choose to do so. You can simply fill it

out or use it as an example to make your own. Please let me know if you
